Tonight is the opening of “The Season of Spring” show at Flower Pepper Gallery in Pasadena. Each artist was given a clear plastic sleeve and an 8”x10” paper to do an original piece or two and include some extra goodies. I’m contributing this gouache and colored pencil piece, “L.A. Nightlife” (featuring a coyote stuck in a bacon-wrapped hot dog), along with a set of mini zines of those sketches of youths stuck in foods I posted about previously.
Hope to see you there!

I’m lying on the moon
my dear, I’ll be there soon
it’s a quiet starry place
times we’re swallowed up in space
we’re here a million miles away
‘I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human being. It happened in the summer of 1959-a long time ago, but only if you measure in terms of years. I was living in a small town in Oregon called Castle Rock. There were only twelve hundred and eighty-one people. But to me, it was the whole world.’
"I’ve never loved anyone the way I loved you."
"Me too. Now we know how."
They say that just before you die, your life flashes before your eyes. All of the memories you held so close to the front of your brain, the times you felt the happiest or the saddest, the moments shared with the ones that matter most.
I hope this is one of those.
